I just asked my wife about public school salaries. My bad. It is about 12,000 per month, but that's in a provincial area...

Hi Poet!
No worry's! The REAL problem is that not all school teachers have passed the LET...they (not licensed) make considerably less than 12K regardless of where - all for the same amount of work.
And, fyi, that 12,000 figure is NOT just "promdi". You will find the same within NCR.

All,
Further to my prior 'overview' post...
IF you are looking to work at a call center here, you must have the appropriate work permit(s), which as I've stated here before, are VERY hard and expensive to get (I am a permanent alien resident, due to my wife being Filipina). You CAN work at the various academies (Korean owned) and perhaps at the nurse test prep centers without the work permit. (You may ALSO be lucky and get a 'consultant' position-perhaps even at Berlitz- at any number of institutions. But these are all short term by definition). However, God help you if you're caught by either DOLE or immigration...also as previously posted. Most businesses here won't risk it either, as they are also held liable.
If anyone wishes more, PM me.
Good luck!
P.S. Let's be honest with each other...the REAL money is in owning/running the academies! One of the main reasons there are over 300,000 Koreans here at the moment, with more arriving daily.
