I agree: when I did the 2 hours nightly conversation classes last autumn and winter, I worked my arse off every day preparing for them, typing out handuts full of structures, vocab, topical questions, etc. It was hard work, not just yak yak--- yes, people want to practise speaking but they also want to learn something about speaking, to improve the quality of their speaking. There was no textbook so it was a lot more work to come up with 2 hours of ideas... |
