Fnarr! Fnarr! Warf! Warf!

It could be because you're too busy washing clothes in your front loading electrolux and buying groceries to stuff in your numerous fridges. You ought to get out more. There's more to life than collecting labor saving household appliances.

Nice one, Joe. You might take your own advice, poring over postings to pick up conversation starters. I've been on this site for some years, try to be respectable, and don't really appreciate pot shots from the peanut gallery.

To address your point, I do get out plenty for wine tastings, golf games, AmCham/AusCham/EuroCham meetings and the like, but I am married with child, 38 years old, and professionally settled as an HR Manager (not an English teacher). Since I am on an expat package, I have a new, large four-bedroom house and have ended up with some extra appliances.

But I guess that is par for the course, nah?

Fair point about my crack. Too much time on my hands.

Hardly par for the course, but one thing I love about Vietnam is that there are so many opportunities for people who come here and are willing to put the work in to make their lives better. My English teaching paid for my distance education and gave me time to do voluntary work for NGOs who might employ me later. Now I'm getting paid well to do a job I love as I'm sure you are. You didn't start on an expat package in Vietnam, did you? I'm sure you know a lot of people who started as lecturers or teachers have done well for themselves too. Not all though. Not par for the course.

Back on topic. I've got a medium sized Toshiba fridge.
