I've been teaching privately for almost two years.
If students cancel or quit coming to lesson, don't take it personally. You'll probably never know the reason, so you can't assume it's you or your teaching style.
My advice is to be as flexible as possible, get to know your students personally (socially, even) and don't cram English study down their throats. If you're worried about money, then figure out how much you want to make each week (eg. 20000 yen) then double the number of students you need to make that money. The law of averages will mean you break even. |
