| I can spend my money out of pocket for a FM-3, but a decent school should pay for that. Or at least reimburse me after six months or a year. |
The only problem with that is that it can be money down the drain for a school, given the abuse of this perk that often happens. That is not to say that you, or many others like you would abuse the system, and it is down to the schools to review their selection policy. It is one of the reasons I would never employ someone "straight off the 'plane", and less, with no experience. |

| So, Phil_K, do you help your teachers get their FM-3's, either by paying for them or helping them with the necessary "trmites"? |

As I have only been trading for less than a year, I only have Mexican teachers, whom I chose for their outstanding ability and disposition. If in the future I identify an outstanding native teacher, it would be likely that he/she already had his/her papers in order. In the case of renewal, yes, I think I would trust my judgement and pay for (or rather, invest in) their new FM3/2. In the extreme case of a newcomer (from whom I would need more than paper references) I think the same would apply.
As I said, the selection policy is the most important thing. This is a very competetive business, and as in any business, the product is king. We have a two-part product. The course, and more importantly, the teacher capable of using that course to provide the result that the clients want - i.e. that their employees communicate in English. (Which has just reminded me to start a new thread! ) |
