I earn less than Dave but get longer holidays. I could raise my income to somewhere around his level if I took one extra hour daily or taught for one month of my two-month summer holiday.
Of course in Saudi and the other GCCcountries you have to make your own provision for retirement. I keep up my payments to UK National insurance so I will get some basic pension when 65. I believe that is not an option for our cousins from the USA.
The State Retirement Pension would be below poverty level if I were foolish enough to return to the UK of GB and NI. If you have entitlement to the State Retirement pesnion you can have it paid anywhere - but there are problems with some countries where you will not have the annual uprating. |

| 14,000 Yuan! For some 30 years experience! what's that, 500 Yuan (i.e. 40 pounds UK sterling per year! 400 UK pounds per decade! Hardly set the world on fire, did we..............? |
