"Never" might be a bit of an exaggeration, but, as usual, Scot is correct.

Ex-pat men tend to have little or no contact with Saudi women, and society is segregated at all levels. Regarding the question as to whether single or married staff are preferred by employers, Zajko has put it well. Single men are obviously more 'cost effective' in that they don't come with extra air fares, health insurance and tuition fees attached. However, single people are also regarded as somewhat eccentric, and some employers like the perceived stability and respectability of a married employee.

Scot's comment that you will never have interaction with a Saudi female is based on a true generalization. However, I have a male friend who was hit on by four different Saudi women, and once had the opportunity to spend time with one of them alone due to her somehow wandering alone in an isolated location. So it can happen, but the risks of being caught with her, to both you and her, are not worth the thrill. He also received messages from Saudi women on myspace, which could lead to a discreet meeting... but how can one know that there isn't a police officer behind the screen name?

A very good friend of mine had a liason with a Saudi woman who he met in the Rasheed Shopping Mall.

It went on sporadically for a number of months.

One day through the most bizarre pieces of bad luck which i wont go into here her father found out.

Luckily for him the girl lived in Riyadh so by the time the father and sons and cousins turned up with shotguns at his apartment he had scarpered across the Causeway never to come back to Saudi again.

He lost all his bonuses and a very good job but fortunately he didn't lose his life.

Now, are shotguns really necessary?

Oh, whoops... we're discussing third world style zealot culture here.

"huntjuliehunt" again displays her profound knowledge of a country which refused the services of 'her'self and her hogwan hubbie. Oh well, rest assured he can chat up the high-heeled chicks in Pusan without fear of recriminations.

Thanks for the "Pusan" advice, "Cleo"patra. I dig high heels.

I don't think it takes profound knowledge to know that bringing a horde of family members with shotguns to murder a man who slept with one of their Saudi women may be acceptable by some Saudi Arabians' thinking, but is considered archaic, and vulgar, by anyone with dignity. Saudi women are not tender little lumplings; they know what's up, and they have brains to make their own decadent, anti-Islamic choices.

Thank goodness! I was beginning to fear that harryhunt might consider 'him'self entitled to expressan opinion here!

Thanks for the education, johnny. You are of course world renowned as an expert on a group of people you have never met.

'huntjuliehunt' - How is it that an individual whose single short previous visit to Saudi Arabia (if her/his own postings are to be believed) was one of mind-boggling naivety, ineptitude and chaos is now presuming to give advice to others about the region and its culture? Perhaps you'd be better, in view of your stated track record, sticking to asking for advice - ideally from the distant comfort of somewhere nice and familiar and safe?

I'm not presuming vast knowledge about Saudi Arabia, though I have some knowledge. What I have indicated in this thread is that it is wrong- on a basic, moral, human level- to murder a man for sleeping with a willing Saudi woman. If you all believe that it is okay to murder that man, then I rest my case and will now go and eat an apple, and sigh for humanity.
