steep learning curves are what I thrive on. Massive sensory overload is like a drug for me. I can't wait.
I've plumped for 4 weeks in Guanajuato at La Escuela Mexicana. From June 2nd to 28th. Then my celta starts 7th July. So I'll have from the 28th to the 6th to get myself an apartment. Enough time?
I will have spent a good 4 days exploring DF when I first arrive at the end of May to get a rough feel for the lay of the city, especially in Condesaish area. |

4 days is a good amount of time to explore Condesa. Of course, there are then 1599 other colonias to explore.
8 or 9 days is more than enough time to find an apartment. Perfect time at the start of the month too. As I said before, get in touch with the crew here and we'll help you out. |

| Lovely stuff. It's all coming together now, getting flights booked soon etc. Just need a little reassurance here and there as I feel my way through the process! |

Thanks for taking the time to do some scouting around, johninmaine. I'm a little short on time too. But I'll take a close look at the site once I finish this danged assessment course. My last course before certification.
Working on a reading assessment tool for CLB 6 to 7 right now.
I'm always amused at how a thread weaves in so many different directions, mirroring real time conversation. It's marvelous. |

| Peseros aren't scary and aren't bad. They cover the city, penetrating into the neighbourhoods that are too small for big buses. |

Sort of connected-
Our building is lovely and the people who live here are nice. However, across the "courtyard" in another building with a seperate entrance there are six boys between 19 and 20 living in an apartment directly opposite ours. They have been getting consistently more and more disruptive, and tonight they have begun throwing stones at our windows and yelling, "I want to **** you." It's a little late to talk to the neighbours, as they're mostly working adults with young kids. What should we do? Should we call the police? We don't have the language skills to tell them to stop. I mean, we can say "no", but that's about it. |

Not a nice situation to be in. If you call the cops, you'll likely have to pay them to help you out. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but could open you up to other problems.
Best is to shame these lads...wait until tomorrow and find the right neighbours to mention it to. Be vocal about it, but be serious and to the point. |
