| I'm not sure my wife's mother can take us going back to America. Now that she knows we're leaving on May 21st, she's having diahrea all the time. She's having a lot of medical problems, actually, but I'm pretty sure it's all psychological. |

As an fellow American who also spent time teaching English in Taichung, I must commend your blog, starting with your remarks about Taiwanese tastes in music. Although I am mainly a classical music (gudian yinyue) fan, I do appreciate the groups you admire, especially Pink Floyd. I started listening to them in the late 1970s, too. I'm not too sure that inculcating your toddler in PF is such a good idea, however.
Anyway, good luck with ditching your in-laws and starting a new life back in the States. I may be heading back to Taiwan this summer, so we may wave at each other from the windows of passing jets.

| I have read a lot of your blog and it is very entertaining though I think you might be a bit too honest at times, I don't know what your kids are going to think if and when read about your wifes reaction when she found out about being pregnant with your eldest daughter or your mother and sister in laws attitudes to you and your wife, some things are best left unsaid. Despite that it made for a good read! |

My wife already knows about my mother and sister's reaction to our marriage and children. That's no secret. However, my family is much more open to my wife than her family is to me. Her family is extremely racist to anyone who is not Asian.
As for my daughter reading about her birth being accidental; by the time she is old enough to read and understand that blog, it probably will be long gone. |

If anyone has been following my blog about my life in Taiwan, I just finished it last month. I think anyone who is thinking about coming to Taiwan will probably learn something from the blog. Just make sure you start at the beginning and work your way up:
