| I find it very easy to move around DF. Between taxis, the subway, metrobus, and peseros, one can move around cheaply and quickly. Like Phil says, most classes are concentrated in only a few areas of town, so you pick it up really quickly. |

I wish Monterrey were this way.
The first thing my husband said when seeing this city for the first time through adult eyes: "What are they THINKING??!! They need to get a proper Metro in here NOW!" The roads are a mess of traffic, the Metro basically doesn't get you anywhere useful, the buses are a joke. This is definitely not a city for new teachers who don't have a car, and even for those with a car, I'm not so sure.
I'm glad DF was planned properly... |

Good points. I'll have a van in DF but I have no plans to drive it because I've seen how they drive in DF.
My wife will probably use the van most of the time which may be good because I want to to able to get around on my own as soon as possible. I don't like relying on others to tajke me places. |

She speaks VERY fast when she's upset. I never catch a single word.
NOW she wants to start practicing with me (two weeks before we're heading out to DF). |

Jfurgers, I'm guessing that your wife is not a language teacher, or she might have been more willing to help you earlier with your Spanish. You'll have some catching up to do when you get here, but living in a Spanish-speaking environment should help a lot. |

She teaches Spanish to adults at the same college where I work. I guess she's too tired to help me after teaching all of the time. But I know I'll be OK in DF. |
