Well, you are not the first or the last one to suffer?
Unfairness exists even in the land of Uncle Sam!
That's the only way you can make it more fair, share your unfairness with others like Uncle Scotty! Laughing

trapezius, be a pessimist, and do not commit suicide, you will forget about unfairness in this world! Laughing

Dear trapezius,

Yes, life can be terribly unfair - which is all the more reason that we should always try to be as fair as we possibly can be.

Regards,
John

Dear 007,

People can certainly be unfair, but life can be, as well. Disease, natural disasters, accidents - these can all strike without human "assistance."
And the rain falls upon the just and the unjust.

John

Well, this is equality in wealth distribution; all should get a portion of life!
BTW, John, what happened to our avatar, this is not fair at all from the Webmasters of the Internet! People! Laughing

Dear 007,
Was your old avatar on Photobucket? Mine was and it suddenly vanished.
Maybe they dropped some avatars, yours and ine among them.
But I like my new one.

John

Yes, you've pretty much got the gist of it.

Don't know much about STA but the grapevine suggests they're reputable.

As opposed to having a reputation!! Amazing language, English. Very Happy

STA is offering SR 20,800 per month for a 2 month contract in Riyadh. Thereafter, there's the possibility of joining them full time, albeit for a lower salary. As a one-off contract, it's quite well paid.....? Does anyone know people working for this outfit?
Thanks,

yes, interesting but STA appear to do this on a regular basis which is why you rarely ever hear anything about them as a company. What I am saying is that the 2-month jobs @ 20,800 SAR is probably just a ruse to get people to apply for more permanent positions as they never seem to be able to supply SDT with enough people.

Has anyone talked to or heard of someone who actually signed up for a 2-month teaching gig with STA? This time around? Or one of the other times? That should tell you what's going on.

I think it's a case of a house of sand and fog (and maybe some smoke & mirrors thrown in for good measure!!) Wink

Just had a phone chat with someone from STA and he was concerned with 12 month contracts only as, according to him, all the two month contracts had already been filled. Maybe Balzac is on to something here.

Good Luck.

Did the STA guy give any details of the 12 month package, eg salary, holidays/flights, accomm, etc? Thanks,

Rumour has it they may also be looking for one or two senior teachers on a fairly attractive (25K pm) deal

I can'tsee people rushing to take them up on those terms. Given that they would be working alongside dirct hire BAE teachers on approx 10,000 per month more, plus living on a super compound

Yeah, that's why they can't get people to go there and the main reason every few months they put out these ridiculous ads thinking they can fool people into believing they're real. I have seen BAE people working alongside those on full, direct hire contracts (usually Americans) and it's a joke.

The other company that hires for BAE (indirectly) is Language Solutions and both agencies effectively cream off the top of what BAE would be paying, so I don't have a lot of respect for them. They are just parasites.
