That wasn't my point Spiral.
My point was that I can write this posting at 2:30am and (usually) you would respond within 1 hour.
I DO find that odd (and sorry - but a little sad, when there is a whole world out there and you seem confined to the parameters of Davescafe.com).
Hey, if TEFL is your passion then, once again, all the best and I respect you for that.
I do feel though that, as you r living in Holland (and as your authority of info on a few recent topics have been questioned), that perhaps you r not necessarily the best source of up-to-date Prague info ALL THE TIME.

I'm definitely not criticizing you or Aussie Chick and, once again, I always have encouraged more teachers to add to the debate (as mr tree did).

It is simply a wonder for me that someone would dedicate their life to a TEFL forum.
I am impressed Smile

None of our past students get paid anything if they get strangers to sign up. It's a policy that we have. If she wants to recommend our course, it's at her own free will. I've got about 150 past grads who would be more than willing to offer the same. The Language House isn't perfect, but everyone comes out of it pretty happy and pleased with the course, the staff, the training and the job assistance.

Interesting reading.

On one hand, a normal TEFL teacher/practitioner can probably only comment on the school they attended, possibly augmented by some experiences working with graduates of other programs. Then again, that is anecdotal and one person isn't going to be much of a reference by themselves.

Then there is the individual who is a teacher trainer/school director/owner. They are actually long-term players on the Prague TEFL scene but have a vested interest in presenting an answer so are naturally suspect when stating their views. Who you going to believe?

In the end, you just take both sources, factor credibility and see what seems real.

So, I attended TEFL Worldwide a little over 2 years ago. Terry and Pete are two of the best teacher-trainers I have ever met. That is speaking as someone who taught American HS for three years in Southern California and as an adjunct instructor at 5 Colleges and Universities over a 21 year business career (including teaching graduate level CAI courses). Their understanding of general classroom behaviors is on par with experienced secondary teachers and then there is their knowledge of TEFL. Both have extensive experience which they willingly pass along to their students. The things I learned in their program are used everyday and have broadened my knowledge to contribute to mentoring other teachers and modifying curriculum.

I have also heard good things about both Language House and ITTP. Both Chris and Neville seem to do their best to present things fairly and objectively when discussing the Prague school marketplace and teacher preparation. Additionally, they are fully disclosed as to their status and positions.

Hope that helps.
