You will get a visa on arrival, and that should be for 60 days. Just keep reminding them to get it done, we have a new principal this year so hopfully she will put pressure on them to do it quickly. Are you going to KG section? |

I don't even know what papers need to be attested. They told me to send my diploma and buy a plane ticket, but I haven't heard from them about anything else. What needs to be attested? |

I'd be more concerned that I was buying my own ticket to get to UAE. None of the better employers would ask a new employee to do that - they would courier your ticket to you directly. |

All the schools I looked at across the u.a.e ask you to but your ticket, they refund you half when you arrive and the rest at the end, from then on they will organize your ticket each year. Everyone I know working in the u.a.e did this. |

If Chouifat doesn't have this practice I'd have to upgrade my opinion of them |

I was contacted for a lower grades position and am supposed to interview. I have never worked in UAE before. Can anyone suggest was an acceptable salary is? I have many years experience. If you prefer, you can email me at [email protected].
Thanks and peace! |

Are you an accredited teacher with an official certificate from your home country?

Not sure why you feel that is unfortunate.
But, what I am getting at is that if you are a Westerner with your national teaching accreditation and experience, you shouldn't be considering for a second any employer that expects you to pay to fly yourself over to the UAE and then have to wait while they decide when (and if) they will reimburse you. You should be applying to either the top tier international schools or through a company like Teach Away to teach for ADEC. (do a search on these two)

At al maarifa the wage starts at 7500 dhs, and you might be able to get them to give you 8000dhs |

I used the term "unfortunately" in regards to other well-qualified non-Westerners who don't get paid as well.
I am not paying my way over...just wanted to know what the average salary was for a B Ed, with Sp Ed and English endorsements, and with a RESOL certificate. |
