Sherri, how many hours/week do you study? The programs I've looked at estimate I will need to study 20 hours/week if I take 2 courses at a time. That's a lot of work after they're in bed.

gordon
now typing with one hand while feeding baby with the other...

I study about 2 or 3 hours most nights. I also get some time in when both are napping at the same time (hurray!). After awhile you get more efficient with your time. I also spend a lot of time just thiinking through my essay question, while in the park, pushing the stroller etc. where there's a will there's a way.
Sherri--getting ready for some discourse analysis tonight!

Gordon, as I don't have kids I can't really understand the joys of doing an MA while raising them. But, FWIW anyway, how about simply going to a library for a day three or so times a month? If you are at the library then no one can disturb you and at least it is a physical signal to the family, including kids, that you are getting on with something serious enough to need the space. Then, when you come home, the kids know that you are free as it were.

Good advice, both of you. I have an added luxury of going to my office, which I can go to at anytime. It's the home life that makes time management more difficult.
