I'm a little surprised at these statements about not needing a degree for a FM3 visa. I'm pretty sure our local immigration office requires a copy of the degree, apostille and all. Then again, every office is different Confused

There's no doubt that you can land jobs here without a degree, but they will be places geared towards making money and little else. If you want to progress in your career, then degrees are pretty important here.

I don't think having a degree is the be all and end all and I don't think it necessarily makes you a better teacher. However, insinuating that you can get any kind of teaching gig 'down here' without a degree is misleading. I can't think of any reputable universities that would employ teachers without a degree, for example.

This is true. I know that in the office local to the school I taught at, you absolutely, positively had to have a bachelors or higher. Just a TEFL certificate wouldn't cut it.
However I know that in other locations of Mexico the rules seem to be more flexible, and a degree is not necessary if the applicant has certification.

Several inappropriate postings have just been deleted including those of a member (now a former member) who used profanity and threatened another member. This kind of a behavior will not be tolerated here.

The Mexico forum is being closely monitored by the Mod Team and members are asked to immediately report all questionable or inappropriate postings to the Mod Team by Report Post mode or PM.
