Of course if the REAL Bill Gates wanted to teach EFL Japan or Korea or Taiwan would absolutely trip over themselves to make sure he got the right visa.

As for qualifications you are all correct. The great linguist Chomsky is not a good public speaker and might be a lousy teacher. On another thread someone mentioned Dave Beckham (soccer player/scholar Wink )teaching. So Beck might be a great teacher --the students would pay attention at least while Gates might bore everyone to tears...

Just a word of advice, you only need to push the submit button once. If you push it twice, you can then delete the extra post. Wink

As for the "push submit" button--yes we know that we are educated after all. The problem I had,(and Woogie I assume )is that the the refresh button kept popping up even though it was sent. Mine went through 5 times---couldnt be fussed to delete all of them.

We are very sophisticated and intelligent people on this board and we don't need....the door gootta go...
