I was thinking more of the possible embarrassment to the Bengali Prof, and not to the possible problems of the ghostly ectoplasm.

As the rattler and roller says, honkies, gringos and WASPs get preferential treatment here.

Dear 007,

I believe the most commonly-used racial slurs for us are harps, mackerel-snappers, bog-trotters or paddies.

Regards and top o' the morning to you,

John

Uncle Bond.
Surely you knew that Slattery was a real Irish surname? What's yours? If you reveal it, I'll tell you mine. Uncle Scot's is probably McDuff or Cronin. Cleo's, probably Stalin or Hitler.

Did our Anglo-Canadian poster ask the Bengali professor if he could openly identify him on a public forum like this ? I suspect not. Poor etiquette.

This still hasn't been edited in the OP.

Come on Scotty. I'm a shaker as well as a rattler and roller. A man of your maturity will surely recall the tunes of the 60s.

The OP really should edit the details in his post to obscure the identity of the individual he mentions.

I rarely do Mr Cowell. However the ectoplasmic entity has indeed edited the post to conceal the identity of the unfortunate. Perhaps he has a basic grasp of Netiquette !

I fail to see how the guy was identifiable from the post.

Incidentally on the 18th Sept the immigration computer system went down at Dammam (and possibly nationwide). All flights were delayed for hours. Some six hours into the chaos they opened an extra booth.

The original post mentioned someone's nationality, ethnicity, rank and specialisation, as well as the location within KSA. These were certainly enough to narrow down the possibilities to one or two individuals.

Doubleplus ungood !
