How about people keeping people updated along the path of their adventure...No biggie if i`m having a good experience already, and after 3 paychecks I`ll write again to say If I still like it!!How about comments about the topic rather than criticising a `newbies`alert to keep the topic updated as the adventure unfolds. Thankyou!! Happy New Year!!! Smile

Oh happy day! I'm in China! The food is great, everyones so nice, I went out for a haircut and winded up with a "rub & tug" I love dumplings! bla bla bla.. Very funny indeed newbie..

This shi- is more appropriate writing home to your friends and fam about.. not for commenting about the state of a school and its reputation.. Do us all a favor and make a real post once you are situated. It will be most sincerely appreciated..

Good for you trika, hope your stay here is a great one. Often times a new attitude can make a success where others only spread animosity.

Couldn't agree more.

Maybe sometimes an older poster has everyone's best interest at heart, maybe other times they are jeaolous because they forgot how to have a good time.
The newbie experience can be great. I wish I could go back to my first year many times.

Appreciate good times while they are here, may they stay with you for a long time

......... You're in Wuhan.

Take my word for it when I say that the novelty be worn off by the constant and always irritating cold winter permeating your life.

Oh and... You're going to love the summer.

In that link, it states
Quote:
two policemen and me and my friend went to the school in a police car.
If that twisted grammar is an example of the caliber of teachers there, then it seems the school really is a joke and, sadly, the joke is on the students. Any of my university students can write better than that!

Okay, I'm glad that did not happen to me Sonni. Before I came to Wuhan, New Jordan made sure I had all the necessary paperwork, and a valid work visa. Since I've been in Wuhan, I have been able to meet former teachers from New Jordan, and they too have had unpleasant experiences. I have been lucky thus far. I think it must be better now, because they have hired some new management up at "the top" levels. I think they must have realized they're past behaviours were killing their reputation. I have so far been treated very well. My apartment is very nice...alot more so than what I was expecting. The area they moved me into is incredibly clean (near the airport).
I have found so far, that the school and the teachers are amazing. Very helpful. The company though, it seems, will try to take advantage of you. Luckily since I've been here, and have been warned of this by former teachers, I have not had a problem with this. I find if you "put your foot down", then they will be fairly good to your wants/needs.

I am glad I started my English teaching career off with New Jordan. I think it is a great stepping stone to further one's experience. Their teaching methods are pretty good, as they realize it's important to make learning fun. I'm not sure that I would re'sign with New Jordan, as after I've gained the necessary experience, and have found further contacts, I would like to sign on with a company such as "Lingophone"(mind my spelling); as I've heard they pay well, and are a good company.

Well...what my rambling is trying to stress, is that NewJordan is a good choice for beginners, and for people that are not afraid to put their foot down. Smile

Any new updates on this school? I'm not gonna apply cause I already speak Chinese and I have done few months of Taiji. I've also been teaching for a bit TESOL certified, which I'm not sure China has any preferred certification...

I'm just curious as to how the school may be for a newbie nowadays. A friend of mine could use something to do.
