Come on. More recommendations ! And reasons to go there. Are there any Temperance Hotels in Bahrain ? Or places where you are not regularly propositioned by ladies of dubious virtue ? |

Next time I will try the BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL. Maybe the breakfast will be edible - unlike in certain other establishments I have used !

Hmmm...I wonder how the Club 500 would handle Seashells? Are there any short cuts one can take? Supply one's own 'software'? Do you get a discount if you re-use that supplied in-house?
Also, does that gentleman who walks from Heathrow into London, walk across the causeway to Bahro? And how would he handle the acquisition of beverages in Bahro?
One final question: will Seashells close for Ramadan? And if so, why? After all, it only opens after dark anyway!! |

One of our colleagues has tried and recommends the Youth Hostel in Bahrain.
The walker does not go to Bahrain. |

I stayed at the Bahrain International for one night. I paid about 15 or 20d. It was pretty scruffy but the breakfast was edible. The lobby was full of drunken Saudis and rough looking Chinese and Arabian hookers. I hadn't slept for 3 days and did not get any sleep whilst I was there as the night was full of wailing hookers, grunting Arabs and the constant tap-tap on doors as the 'girls' tried to drum up more business.
I though Bahrain was a pretty dirty, scruffy and smelly place to be honest. Maybe Saudi made a puritan out of me. |

I had to laugh at this...no doubt it could seem that way, but what did you expect? You chose to stay at a seedy hotel.
...it seems your experience of Bahrain is directly related to the sort of accommodation you have chosen. |

I think Madman is only comfortable in places like Milton Keynes. |

On a recent visit I showed the Bahrain International to a colleague who spent some years in Thailand. He was startled by the ambience of the place. Most shocking to him were the Saudi gentlemen from KSA in thobes with bottles of Becks Beer chatting up the barmaids !
A surreal place.

Who said that the Saudi in thobes do not drink Beer and Whisky?
Just go and visit London and you will see the unimaginable! |

Are the Sheraton and the Golden Tulip the top of the line hotels in Bahrain?
Has anyone stayed there? If so, could you comment on the rates and servcie provided? |

Not the best. There are fancier. The name escapes me at the moment. There is an older hotel from which colonial types used to watch the Imperial Airways flying boats taking off en route to India. That was when I was a young man. |
