Hey
just seeing this now but would certainly like to go. http://www.casavecina.com/ doesn't work for me, but calle regina doesn't look like that long of a street.
maybe see you tomorrow.

Seems that site went down since I linked it. Marsha's directions are correct though.
Looks lke we're finally getting some sun...good news as the restaurant is somewhat open. I thought it might be a tad cold to be there what with the weather we've had. |

Talk about cold - brrrr! I've been regretting not bringing some long underwear with me and also imagining that I would find frozen water in the toilet when I got up in the morning . See everyone later! |

That was fun...we had a little over 20 people out this time. The book swap was a great idea. I came away with 5 volumes and dropped off 5. Casa Vecina ended up with about 8 books to throw on the shelves. |

I think everyone had a good time - it was great seeing old friends and making some new ones too. And now I know a place to get goat cheese on my pizza! |

That wouldn't be Gino's, would it? They do a wonderful pizza of huitlacoche with goat's cheese! |

As was my preference in the States, I avoid eating at American chain eateries, especially for pizza. I enjoyed the goat cheese pizza at the funky place our gathering took place on Saturday, Casa Vecina in the Centro Histrico. |

I had no idea that Gino's was an American company! All I know, is that we have always found good service, great food and reasonable prices there. |

Well, it's possible that it's not. Is there just one of them in the city? Does their version of the pizza have any resemblance to the kind found in New York City, or maybe Chicago? To my gringa tastebuds, that's the only kind of pizza that is the real thing! |

I've never eaten pizza in the US!
The best Gino's are the ones next to Galerias Insurgentes and in Concepcin Bestegui/Patricio Sanz (Del Valle) and a smaller version in the Parque Delta Mall. I know there is another one in Durango/Frontera (Roma Norte) and a few others. I also recommend the Crema de Queso Roquefort served in a hollowed out rustic round loaf of bread! |

I think there are some people in a southern European country, shaped like a boot, that might disagree! |
