I don't have a TEFL/TESL but I still got an interview, and I have another one next week. |

I wonder if any of the people without the TEFL requirement used the 2008 application? I know it was on the EDB website until January 09 (I think) and on that application you could acquire your TEFL within the first year. The email I received stated
"Thank you very much for applying for the captioned post. We regret to inform you that you do not meet our TESL/TEFL qualification requirement. A general guideline, we require a TESL/TEFL course to comprise of at least 100 contact hours with an element of actual practical teaching."
I have a BA and a primary teaching certificate with specialism in literacy (not much experience though), who knows how they decide really! |

"Who knows how they decide really" is right...
But then that's like making an application to any body... school or employment.
Talking with other candidates after the fact (and this forum is great for that), it does seem rather arbitrary at times.
