Dear Gordon,
You're quite right - I stand corrected. Moreover, I forgot all those seemingly lovely ladies (with large, quite visible Adam's apples) that one could encounter in Jarkarta. I believe it's the usually larger hands and feet and the more prominent Adam's apples that are the most reliable tip-offs.
Remember this Kinks' song:
LOLA
I met her in a club down in old Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola
C-O-L-A cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lola
L-O-L-A Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Well I'm not the world's most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Well we drank champagne and danced all night
Under electric candlelight
She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said dear boy won't you come home with me
Well I'm not the world's most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes well I almost fell for my Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
Then I looked at her and she at me
Well that's the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It's a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Well I left home just a week before
And I'd never ever kissed a woman before
But Lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said dear boy I'm gonna make you a man
Well I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man
And so is Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Regards,
John |

| That is a great song. Why can't more songs be written like that? |

Well Gordon, we must be lucky then...You've got the most perfect woman and I've got the closest to perfect man.
He is
handsome
loving
sensitive (but not overly)
hilarious
romantic
athletic
trustworthy
He loves
the outdoors
new experiences
dogs
ME!
He doesn't mind
taking me shopping (i'm not a big shopper so it usually doesn't take long)
cooking
washing dishes
Sorry girls, you'll just have to settle for second best |

Dear ha'anala,
Holy Moley - I didn't even realize we knew each other. But it surely sounds like we're having a good time.

well caper girl's avatar was really the girl for me. I mean Denise seems intelligent, but I can't go for a girl with a beard. I'm sure Lola didn't have one.
But now Capergirl's avatar is gone, and my heart has gone with it. |

Humour: If she finds Office Space and Conan O'Brien funny, she gets huge points. In the past, this has been a surpringly accurate gauge of "girlfriend material"
Intelligence: More often than not, this coincides with humour.
Appearance.
In that order. An average looking girl who's funny as hell is far more attractive to me than a gorgeous girl with the personality and charm of boiled celery. |

Dear Canuck 2112 and dduck,
Well heck - with you two guys, it's pretty clear a lady would HAVE to have a darn good sense of humor, just to get past the introductions.

Good one Canuck2112! I have to agree that people who look great but can't hold their end of a conversation or do not get jokes and need them explained need HELP! Maybe it is just us Canadians who get it!? (hee hee)
I loved Office Space.
I would like a guy who is/has:
tall
intelligent
sarcatic but not painfully so
witty and funny
a decent cook
a reader of many books
a sense of traveling adventure
a kind heart and face
equally comfortable at a party or hanging on the couch
a good kisser
I tend to prefer men who are a little bigger. I like that comfy feeling of a man who can hug you and you really feel it.
I did a celebrity romance quiz once and it said my perfect match was Joh n Cusack, which, IMHO, is a good choice. Love his films and his characters. (Grosse Pointe Blank is my fav!!!) |

I usually do pretty well with the introductions. The need for humour really kicks in after I suggest a nice, icebreaker-type activity for our first date: namely, going to the dump to shoot seagulls. |

Yeah, I did one too and got matched up with Russell Crowe. Having just seen his latest movie, I can only applaud the computer's taste. But, until Russ comes to his senses and asks me out, I'll keep looking for a male version of what Canuck2112 describes.
Unfortunately, I once dated a gorgeous guy whose personality wasn't as intriguing as "boiled celery." It wasn't long before he didn't seem so gorgeous anymore, especially when compared to the "plain guy" with a sharp wit and a love of books. The more he talked, the better looking he got. My friends never figured out what I saw in guy number two, which was just fine by me. If they had, I would've had a lot of competition for his attention. |
