I have no doubt that you wear shorts earlier than most of the locals, but they start wearing them in July, which is a fair way off yet. It's only the beginning of February. I have a Kiwi friend here who wears just a T-shirt and light sweater through winter when I am wearing a down coat, but even he doesn't break out the shorts until about April
I hear you about the houses you can see your breath in- I used to live in one of those- it was about 40 years old and demolished not long after we moved out. In summer it was an inferno, probably over 40 degrees upstairs. Very happy to live in a new place which has some form of insulation now- no cockroaches here either. |

Hey I just got my placement. I will be going to Futtsu, Chiba. Can anyone give me the lowdown of this place? I went on wki and google maps. Looks like outer-outer suburbs to me. It is also farther than the Gaijinpot Apartment guide goes. So any idea of normal pricing. Also looks like there is a train, so I may be able to get around with out a car. Any help would be great.
http://www.x-shooto.jp/gym/index.html#okayama are any of the shooto schools in Chiba close/with in a reasonable distance to Futtsu?
I and 2 other ALTS are being placed there. Looks like 2 JHS and 1 ELM. Not sure how we will be set up. |
Check your PM's. Just sent you a msg. |

July? That's way too late. In fact that's a bit odd if I do say so myself. I;m not your Kiwi friend, I will wear a jacket.
I know why are there so many reverse insulated houses? I woke up in July in Osaka and it was 30C in my house. And it was 8:30am. And having so roaches would be nice. They seem to get in as though they have a key. |
