rusmeister, those young ladies are Menshikovs daughters:) Otherwise, please, listen to what rusmeister says. Russia is not for the faint of heart especially if you dont speak Russian. Proceed with caution if you dont want to end up writing horror stories on this forum about your Russian experience. |

Do you like girls? Maybe you would want to go out with one while in Russia? Well. How do you think your occupation and salary might sit with those ladies? Not very well. Russian women are most always very conscious of the earning power of men. If a man makes little, there is little potential for separating him from his money, which translates into a low interest level on their part.
I made well over twice your wage and had women run the opposite direction when they found out I was a teacher. Foreign men are expected to be well off. Be prepared to be both lonely and hungry on $650 a month. |

Russia is already full of decent and educated, but also poor local guys so why should women there be interested in poor foreigners??
Of course it also has to do with age--if you are around forty or more, you might be lucky to find some really nice ones over thirty who are either divorced or widowed and lonely..and often very horny with it because local men of their age often have a love affair with the vodka bottle and this leaves them unable to oblige! |

Sorry, are you saying fresh fruit and vegetables are expensive? Or if you live on fresh fruit and veg you can scrape by? |

Certainly not by UK standards. Apples, tomatoes, etc, run about 80-100 r/kg and are cheaper in season (i.e. the fall). |

If you have to live in a polluted city like Moscow,it is essential to keep your immune system in order by eating the correct diet and that means plenty of clean and fresh fruit and vegetables,as well as good quality drinking water.Failure to do so will affect you health, and maybe sooner rather than later. If you drink alchohol regularly and even more so if you smoke too these points are essential!Vitamins are important too.(I think Kazachka, who is also into athletics, will agree ith me on this?) |

Don't skimp at the grocery store. If a balanced diet is a luxury item, time to look for another job! While your employer can always replace you, your HEALTH can't be replaced. I also strongly recommend vitamins, good antioxidants, etc. Many of these things are avail. in Moscow now. I bring some things from the US, but there are also good things that can be got in Russia now and not in the US, so I combine both. If you are looking for sports nutrition, these 2 sites have just about everything-

Drinking? I'm pretty much teetotal til late October. Drinking during season effs with my recovery. |
