The tax rates do not change. The amount of your income taxed depends on the allowances you are allowed to claim. Being married,by itself, does not lower your tax. The amount of tax you pay as a married person depends on how much you BOTH earn.
I shall post no more on this now. Anybody really interested in the tax in HK can go to the website I posted earlier.

I think once again is right - the tax rate is 15%, no matter whether you are single or double. But if you're married and your partner doesn't work and/or doesn't use up their full tax allowance, you can claim their allowance too. Not 100% sure, but having lived here 10 years that sounds right. Of course anyone concerned should investigate further - tax is designed to confuse. |
