The crowds aren't too bad on the line you are talking about. You may have to stand for a few stops on peak hours but'll be able to get a seat in not much time. If my memory is right, I don't think the change is at Sagamiono but at Ebina. You want to change from the Odakyu to the JR line to head out to Enoshima (one of my favorite places haha).
It feels like about the same amount of time going to either Yokohama or Tokyo. The only hellish times I had was during some humid summer evenings riding a packed train either to or from Tokyo. The train traffic really picks up about halfway from Tokyo to Atsugi.
