Is this for the temporary summer job referred to on another thread? If so, I doubt that you can negotiate. If this is a full contract job for later, you can try to put them off. Of course, they can move on to someone else and drop you.

How would you negotiate with a western/european employer? Have you ever negotiated your salary before for previous jobs? In my experience, I told them what I expected to receive for a person with my qualifications and went from there.
