Of course... everyone knows who it was. I suspect this is one prince who stepped over the line, but it will be the family who shuts him down and we will never know what actually happened to him.

| Fortunately the issue has now been mentioned in the local press, with the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department saying it will make a comprehensive public review (GN). This video was just sick. It is also a clear reminder to me of why it is so important that in "free" and "progressive" countries such as the US of A (which I am from) we should not ever torture. Due to recent past events it is unfortunately all the more difficult now to go pointing out the splinter in our neighbor's eye.
In this sense I am reminded of the recent news reports slagging off Dubai. It seems rather easy to go around pointing out how barbaric the Middle East can be, but we're really not much better, except perhaps at covering things up. |
