The funny thing about headwinds is that you are always going into them, them seem to back round in the direction you are going when you alter course - a bit like beating to windward in a sailing boat.
Here gears are necessary, although must admit I don't leave the valley bottom if I can avoid it. Mind you, cycling's done wonders for the firmness of my thighs...
Sorry for the OT thread. Perhaps we need one on ESL teachers and bikes of various sorts. |

I don't suppose anyone can point me in the right direction for short term contracts in Hungary? - I'm available from late Jan till September, when I start my PGCE (I only have a BA at present but I do also have a TEFL and ESL experience in Europe and Asia!) Anything under that, whether it is six days or six months is perfect.
Ever since I visited Budapest years ago it's been my dream to live there and I'm determined to find a way to make that come true some day, if not yet then eventually... |

Hi all,
I would just like to reply back here and explain that I did visit Budapest and IH Budapest. Overall I found it a positive experience and even in my short visit I saw many new things and learnt a little about Hungarian culture and so on.
As for a contact in Budapest, I would just like to say that I agreed to meet IH Budapest CELTA co-ordinator, Borka Szobs, and I was very impressed. I couldn't make it on the Friday, so she gladly re-arranged to Monday morning. We had a chat and she answered all my questions.
Whether I will leave work in England to become a CELTA teacher abroad is still up in the air, since I have a permanent job and it's not so easy to leave it for a part-time job which is not even certain. But thanks to the advice from everyone here - I did go, I found some things out for myself, and I made a decision.
Cheers:) |
