The min. now would be a Dip. ELT or equivalent.
However the pay scale would be on local terms. $16 to 18K a month.
I will get a Dip. ELT + MA TESOL and PGDE, then I will be eligible for panel chair. That is an additional 10 to 15K but as far as I know a great deal of mindless paper shuffling.
Oh BTW, looking into getting a curriculum and teaching methodology accredited.
I will let you know how that goes.

Well Andy,
It is most likely a case of market forces, so to speak.
The HK NET and PNET schemes have become extremely popular.
With so many applicants whom are more highly qualified than myself, I remain in that lower pile of applicants.
Secondly, since the EMB pays for the NETs and PNETs, most schools are relucant to hire directly. Instead they can hire from agencies under contract and allow the cost to be passed on directly to the students' parents. |

An M.A. will get me Graduate Master status.
As it stands I would just get P.T. until I can sit the benchmark and a crappy MPS 15 - 16, with local terms. |
