I note the OP is in Taiwan. From what I understand, wages are a lot better in Taiwan than in Mexico, so I think you will have a tough time.

When I taught in Mexico, I took home about 10,000 pesos a month after taxes, etc. That was considered a very good wage. My living expenses were about 6500 pesos/month, allowing me to save maybe 3500 pesos. The trouble is that those savings were easily consumed by travel, both domestic and visits back 'home'.

First I would like trying living outside of Asia. Also, how much do international schools pay in Mexico City. I am thinking about trying to get my teacher's license in New Mexico and then maybe I would hop over the boarder to Mexico in a few years.
