Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I imagine that in today's job market you need concrete, verifiable skills more than just a broader perspective of the world. And as Chancellor said, simply being in a new country isn't necessarily enough. It might work for college applications, but those typically come from graduating high school students who haven't had the time to build up years of concrete skills and work experience. And I do still believe that the intangible benefits of experiencing new cultures can help, but how will you write them up on a CV? How will you sell them in a job interview?
