I'm also in a similar situation. Now I'm heading out on the 25th, and just bought a laptop in the UK so that's taken care of.
What will I realistically need to pay for within my first say 6 weeks[assuming I get paid on the 10th in arrears, meaning my first pay would not be until the 10th of November].
I'll need food, will I need to buy small things for the apartment[I get it fully furnished] including sheets, bedding, etc?
Groceries[I imagine I can live on about 30 worth of food a week -> 300RMB, so x 6 = 1800].
Beside this, will I be going out and spending money on social things more in the first months than the later ones[just like when at university?]
I'll also need a phone + credit once I arrive, and me being a stickler for technology will no doubt spend about 1000 RMB on one]
So bare in mind I know I'll be spending 1000 rmb on a phone, plus say 500 rmb credit = 1500 plus 1000 upfront for a years internet = 2500, any idea how much I should be taking on top?
I was thinking of getting 650 changed = 7400 RMB, plus taking 200 on one of those travelling cards, giving me access to another 2200 rmb if needed. Does 9500 or so rmb sound like it would be enough?
I'm moving to xi'an btw. |
