| I think I'm the culprit who started a new topic on Princess Noura. I'm a Newbie, still learning the ropes. So which topic shall we use? |

Negotiate your contract ?
My experience is that no one recruiting teachers for Saudi Arabia negotiates. There is an offer and you take it or leave it.
And I have been working in KSA on and off since 1970.
Things are done differently in the Arab World. This is not Houston - or Port Elizabeth.
Nothing you have done before ANYWHERE prepares you for things in the KofSA ! Well you could read "Dune" whcih was written by someone who was driven insane working for a large corporation in this part of the world. |

When Uncle Scott speaks, newbies should listen and take notes!
The Magic Kingdom is not for anybody! |

Occasionally, people can and do negotiate contracts.
However, this is only succesful if your employers really want you - as opposed to some anonymous teacher on some recruitor's list. If you don't have something specific to offer your employer - extensive Saudi experience, excellent qualifications or whatever, then chances of negotiating your contract are slim. With the big recruitors, I'd say it's close to zero no matter how good a candidate you are. |

| I recently slammed the door on an offer and about a week later I got a phone call back with a better offer. I slammed the door on that one, too. The agent was obviously desperate...for probably good reasons. |

I believe that Princess Noura is for women only??
So that would exclude Mr TK... could be the same recruiter for another place...
