I really don't care (much) if folks think smiling makes me look stupid. I always smile for photographs. Passport photos included. And yes, I am an American.

I think that people who think that smiling makes one look stupid are very stupid (and very dour) people.
In photo shops in the Middle East, you will NEVER see a pic of anyone smiling. They all look as if they just ate something that tasted really, really bad.
Now I think THAT looks stupid.

It's actually Eastern Europe that I was thinking of in particular when I made that statement. So now I'll add the Middle East who think smiling Americans look stupid.  |
