Earn a fare wage, decent hours, benefits as perscribed under the Mexican FEDERAL Labor Laws, be paid on time and in full, receive a FM-3 in order to work legally and deal with management who are professional, honest and ethical with their dealings with both teachers, employees and students.

I worked for a highly reputable language school in Morelia. I earned a fare wage and we got paid more for working on Saturdays. Some months I had split shifts, but some months I didn't. We were required to teach 5 hours on Saturday for 8 months out of 9. I liked the split shifts, but Saturdays got old. I did have an FM-3 through the school, but I never got around to registering with Hacienda and consequently the school never got around to giving me a contract or full legal benefits. Had I stayed on longer, this would have changed. We got paid every week; only one time was I paid late and it was the following day. Students only got passed if they actually made a passing grade. The management was professional, honest, and ethical with teachers and students.

Frankly, I don't understand all the whining about split shifts; most Mexicans work a split shift centered around siesta. Many Mexicans also work Saturday until siesta. This school was no different.

This poll has been on the forum for over a month now. I thought it was time to review the results...

Its great to know that 66% of those polled believe that there are, indeed good language schools here in Mexico.

This is really positive stuff... I bet Obama would like ratings as high these days.....
