This wouldn't be so bad, depending on the student. Could be a great situation if she was easy-going, a good cook and liked to clean.
And since you're not dating, you wouldn't (hopefully!) get "Where the F have you been?!" yelled at you after a late night out.
Personally, I'd tell the dude to take a hike, however. Doors in Polish flats tend to be rather thin and there are often windows where there should be no windows.  |

Easy-going, a good cook and liked to clean. Bingo! I should add that I knew her before she asked to share the flat. Her boyfriend's cool. He's also a student and has a job at a cafe/pub on Dluga not too far from Neptune. The doors in my flat are fine-you know that. And windows where there should be no windows-like your/my room in the flat on Mostek. Fortunately I was only there for a month until this place became available. |

Just curious why several of you think you should give your opinion on this guy renting his flat to a girl with her boyfriend. Seems like you're picking up the "Polish babcia's" habit of minding everyone else's business! 
(I say that because I lived many, many years in the US as a married woman with children and then came here.) Here I've been told by total strangers to "feed my child more"--he had a thin face but ate plenty, let me assure you! "put more clothes on them" (went outside without wearing a hat/scarf), "tie the kid's shoelace", "shut the window so there is no draft", "Don't let them drink that cold apple juice," etc. All by people I don't know.
Maybe you know the ones giving their opinions, scottie. I'm just kind of surprised by that we are giving our opinion.  Guess we begin to take on the personality of the country we are in, huh? |

Yes, this thread has turned into a Polish babcia-fest. Nothing like Christmas and being cooped up with babcias (and babcias to be) to bring out the babcia in all of us.
But in my defence, I must say that i do know scottie well and have even warmed up his apple juice for him on occasion. I also always cut the crusts off his bread so he doesn't get indigestion. |
