Oh, and on the 'economy-hogging' issue: remember that many of us 'old-timers' have lots of years of experience, post grad degrees in TESL/TEFL or applied linguistics, and speak the local languages where we are. We've got established jobs (many in the upper levels of our profession), local contacts and reputations and often families in the region....
No, we're not negative because we are worried about competition for our jobs from the newbies  |

Ditto. Many of us oldbies also have good contacts and get jobs that way. Jobs that aren't even advertised. |
