Confused
Do you care about the issue or just having a laugh at me contradicting myself? I hope the former. You're taking statements out of context. Millions around the world have HIV friend and in case you ain't heard it's going around.

I don't if this is a flame, but flaming ruins forums, generates distrust, and dissolves unity. Flaming within the context of a topic as grave as this though is just plain hard-hearted. Whatever the case, why didn't you state YOUR opinion?

The point being is that a lot of Western teachers in Asia do get girlfriends and many probably do have unprotected sex. Who's kidding who? They're not likely to have unprotected sex with prostitutes though (the main source of transmission of HIV in Asia, particularly Southeast Asia but probably China now too, is through prostitution) or to be sharing needles in backstreet bungalows.

The point being furthermore that many Asians, especially in the poorer countries, are very ignorant of HIV/AIDS and governments are not doing a good job educating them. Yet for some reason they feel compelled to test foreign ESL teachers like you, Mr. Hainan. And why is that?

Get it? Keep looking. Contribute to the thread, please. Each time somebody flames on a thread (or seems to be) it's disorientating and set things back. Good natured humor is a boon to everyone; ridicule is a bummer.

Around the world, over 6000 people a day are dying from AIDS, about one every 10 seconds. That might make you want to cry in your beer instead of spamming off on well-intentioned people like me.
