Oh Pik... this is not really a good topic for board consumption as it will likely get us all locked up.
But, in my experience of the Gulf, and friends who have lived in Saudi, SJ is absolutely accurate and it is advice that I have given repeatedly through the years... though usually by PM.

I think Pigkitina you will find, if you cast your mind back far enough, that young heterosexual males have this perverse desire to ogle and even seek out young female company, a desire somewhat less strong amongst those of the other persuasion.
And young personable women aren't just for the picking in Saudi; in fact you can go months without even talking to a member of the opposite sex.
Married people obviously have no problem; a dairy farmer doesn't need a supermarket to get his milk after all. Older people don't have so much of a problem because they are old and somewhat decrepit ('mellow' is the term they prefer, I believe), and their approach to personable members of the other sex is often met with hilarity and rebuffs anyway. |
