No, not a good deal. Hours too high and the commute time is also not included. I see lots of potential unpaid hours here.

30-hours per week is difficult, most of the time you will be doing generic Oral English level teaching. 30-hours of straight Oral English instruction will burn you out.

You must ask if this position has "subject level teaching" or just Oral English prep. 90% of the teaching jobs are based around Oral English, these positions are the lowest paid and get very old fast. The plus side is low prep and lesson plan development time is needed.

For the typical run-of-the-mill Oral English based schools, do not exceed more than 20-hours. The best range is 12-16 hours, subject area teaching with decent lesson plans and materials those hours can be increased. Anything over 30-hours will be a bust unless you are actually doing REAL teaching. I'm 100% certain this is not the case here because those positions often require an education degree and teaching certification- CELTA is not considered a teaching certification.

You need to ask more questions about class sizes, age levels, job duties and such to get a better idea if this is a 50/50 deal or basic exploitation Chinese style.

The added insult is the hidden housing costs too, do they even provide a legit work Z-visa?

Thanks for the advice everyone. I've turned down the offer. I have other opportunities in China and Korea that I am pursuing.
