Ahh.. I had forgotten about that whole "student visa holders can't marry thing." (it is to protect you from someone just trying to get a passport and stay) OK... forget the courthouse. I think my second idea might work for you and going to Boston and interviewing might answer some of your questions.
With the current politics, it is better the keep it all 'halal' with the US government...

I think it's more about protecting the US from immigration fraud. I mean, I personally know people who have changed their status from student to spouse of US citizen with no problem, but in today's political climate it is best to keep it all "halal" as you suggest. It would also help if I had fallen in love with a more desirable import.  |
