So if you want to get involved in evangelical Christianity in Guangzhou, where can you go to fellowship?

Your best bet is to join the "McBurger Christian Club." They meet at a McDonald's and buy burgers for those willing to hear them evangelize. After one or two Sunday McDonald's meetings, the evangelists are normally arrested. One stays as hostage while the rest scurry home for their passports.
It's said that the US is the greatest mission field in the world ... try evangelizing there and you won't get deported.

I knew a guy who was a Jehovah Witness, but also attended the local Unitarian-Universalist church.
He'd knock on your door but then wasn't really sure why he was there. |

Maybe it is a trap question. I have heard the LDS are in here in the thousands. I also have run into many Chinese buisness types who are into bible reading. The protestant ethic is the new way to get wealthy in China. My favorite thing to say to them' and this cost me a job recently is " Sorry I am not Christian I am Catholic" This frightens them off for some reason. Actually I am Buhhdist.

It could be something as innocent as the employer wanting to know which days to give you as extra holiday.

I suspect the employer had a bad experience with evangelical Christians in the classroom in the past.
