Absolutely not VS, the visa must be canceled by the employer and with the employee - they have to stamp the passport after all. If you leave on vacation but then do not return, that is under the "absconded" category and the employer has to wait for 6 months to cancel the visa. |
OK... so we are right back to what I said from the start.
Little has really changed, but not requiring the NOC any more. But the current employer must still do the canceling and thus has the ability to gum up the works if he doesn't want to cooperate with your choice to change employers.

A person wants a job. He/She is hired for a job in Oman. In the meantime he/she continues to look for other work that pays more in the Gulf including Oman. The current position is not that tolerable and/or he/she receives an offer for a better position but because he/she has worked at present position for only a short duration he/she doesn't want to include the position on the resume. He/she properly resigns from current position and returns to home country.
When he/she returns to Oman to process visa for new job, will employer learn of previous short-term position? The person already worked a long term position in Oman for 2 or 3 years a few years back, so fingerprints etc, etc would have already been on file even if person had never taken the short-term position.
Maybe that is what I should have said from the very beginning. My apologies for not being clear enough in the original post. Again, thanks for any replies and feel free to PM. |
