| Agreed, even the official American School here in Warsaw is known to hire non-accredited teachers. There are numerous other international schools which offer English programs and they will certainly hire non-accredited teachers. Many schools need to have at least some accredited teachers to keep whatever certifications they have but also hire other native speakers to teach various classes. |

I was in touch with a Canadian international school recently with a very good rep. They said that their school accreditation needed teachers to have at least a B.Ed. or M.Ed. But you didn't need to be formally certified in Canada.
If you go to International schools faculty page, it usually has their creds right up. A masters does seem to help, but a lot of the schools in China don't seem to require home country certification.... |
