How am I strange? I have been to England twice, China once, Japan once, and Korea once. In all these cases, I never had to hold on to any card.

Only this second time to China I get this form with departure and arrival on it.

Just because you learned the idiosyncrasies doesn't mean others are strange. Usually, they hand them out on the plane before you land. So, you are only dealing with arrivals in this case.
