Do you have teaching certification? An M.A. in education plus certification would put you in the running at some of the better international schools anywhere in the world.

I did four years in Korea at an international school and am about to complete my first year in Saudi. I moved here with my wife. If I was single, I would have a hard time in Saudi. Our quality of life is much higher in Saudi (i.e. better pay, nicer, bigger housing, lots more furniture, plenty of sun and outdoor activities) but my overall quality of life is lower (fewer opportunities to socialize or meet new people, no nightlife, etc.)

One of the things I miss about Seoul is just being able to go for a walk, anywhere, at any time of day or night, and feel safe.

Yes, I do have certification in Mathematics grades 7-12. In the past few weeks I have received a couple offers from international schools in UAE, but the pay was not very good. Plus, many of the schools in Abu Dhabi want singles to share accomodation. Sad

Your statement about quality of life in Saudi is exactly what many others have told me. I live in a rural area in S. Korea and I totally hate it. I rarely see foreigners in my area and it is difficult to make Korean friends. My goal is to try and secure employment by the end of June. If I cannot secure a good position by then I will probably tough it out in Korea for the remainder of the year.

Thanks for post. If you know of any good openings please send me a PM. Have great day!
