Haha, thanks for the encouraging posts. There is still hope for us Chinese-CAN/AMR.

I have given this some further thought and I think I've come up with a decent solution. Since my Chinese-Canadian background is what seems to be the biggest concern for some; I'm just going to throw that out on the table immidately. This way, they'll know that I'm serious about teaching and that I'm not here to wast anybody's time. If they're "racist" they're not going to hire me anyways. However, if they're indeed serious about acquiring someone who'll teach English, then they'll most likely be more eager to learn more about the person.

All in all, it's not going to be easy. But I think we'll be accepted by those who are genuine about providing good English courses.

Katzwyl: Thanks for your PM.

Throwing out everything...to show them you are SERIOUS about TEACHING?
Man, you haven't got the drift of our messages yet: they WON'T take teaching English ten percent as seriously as you do.
They need "foreign" faces to show off, but not to improve the quality of their mediocre teaching.
If they cared, a lot could have been improved over those 25 years that westerners have been rubbing shoulders with them.
Lots of us have tried - all in vain - to impart some wisdom, teaching insights, tricks of the trade, etc.

My current employer is dismissing several teachers at the end of this term - because they dared speak up and make frank comments.
I am not saying that what they had told the school was right; the fact that the school is not interested in any opinion is being heard loud across this country!
They can afford to ignore advice as there are so many would-be replacements.
