Thanks, 007
Yes, I meant 20 K US per year ..Thanks for the information, I definetly would like a school like the Tahfidh school, and than I can teach my children Math & Science @ home, in addition to what they learn in school.
Its good to know it won't be so expensive, and if I stay in the ME long enough, I hope that I can figure out my best options of school when they get to the secondary level.
Thanks again!

The Univ of Ha'il's teacher recruitment ads (daves int'l job bd, 20 Jan, 2010) are now mentioning free schooling for teachers' kids at their (the uni's own) international school (US curriculum).
True? And of a high enough standard? |

My husband and I have been offered jobs at Ha'il University in Saudi. It was formally known as King Faisal Univ. of Petrol and Mining in Ha'il.
Can anyone out there give me some more information about this school?
What is the compound life like? How are the teachers treated? etc. etc.
Any info would be helpful. |

I left Hail university 4 months ago after 2 years of teaching English at ELC. it was very bad experience with administration, environment, bedouins and chaos of everything!
There is no school up to standard in Hail. most of foreign teachers' children are learning at the (Middle East ) school which run by Indians !! real indian school !
despite I was direct hire lecturer from the UK, and got paid on time but I am not recommending Hail at all, it is a hell not hail !
Teachers are living in a protected area called ( Mashaar ) it is located between the desert and mountain! totally isolated ! no sound but the dogs barking ! very very quiet and remote! there is one shopping bus for more than 30 families!! 3 times a week. no place to go but internet and TV !! you will get fat ! cooking only !
dead life. if you under sponsorship of M.Trading you always late-paid, 2 or 3 months later ! greedy and cheaty employer.
with M.Trading means no residency permit ( Iqama ) no bank account, no driving, no medical care !!
Direct hire is better but it looks like a bird in a golden cage ! prisoner with a very bad management and environment.
Lazy and careless adminstration and deanship. the new dean of Prep.year is very lazy and careless ( real saudi )!!
Please priorise Khobar, Riyadh the Jeddah.
Put Saudi Arabia in the bottom of your list, if you live and work there, you will realize that money is not every thing.

| None but the brave ! Who else would want to be with a "greedy and cheaty employer" ? I think M Trading may have disappeared by now. I am not sure if Hail University still uses contractors. (nothing to do with King Faisal - it was originally a constituent college of King FAHD University of PETROLEUM and Minerals. Not "Petrol".) |

Whoever wrote that piece before Scot's, deserves praise, first for deceiving the selectors into believing (s)he is a teacher of English, and then, must be given a lecture as to what one can civilizedly talk about former employers. |

Dear Scot,
I had hoped that you would understand that (civilizedly) was deliberate. Pity.

| You will see it spelt that way more often than the other way and that just prove that the masses are often wrong. |

Yes, it's Scotlish... very rare dialect used only in a few islands off the coast of Scotland.
