Depends on where you are when you apply for the visa and whether or not the employer wants to see your CRC.
IF you are applying from within North America you will be denied a visa by the consulate there if there is a positive finding on your CRC.
IF you are applying from some of the neighboring countries in Asia, they often don't ask for it.
Can you get a CRC from a neighboring state that is clear? That would eliminate your problem (in most cases).

If it's your only legal problem it may be worth it to look into getting it expunged or vacated.
It has to be done in the same state as the original conviction, but once it's complete - then it's not on your record.
Check w/ a local attorney to see if it's possible/worth it |
